This year, Heaton Normal Intermediate School has chosen to embrace e-Learning and the online environment through the use of KnowledgeNet, which is what is known as a LMS or Learning Management System. This is an online platform that facilitates the effective sharing of knowledge and communication between teachers, administrators, students and parents/caregivers. KnowledgeNet is a secure environment, with each student having their own personal username and password. Through KnowledgeNet, Heaton aims to keep our community informed and up-to-date with our students' work, our school events and general school information. Every class and student has their own online pages where, over their two years at Heaton, they will build up an e-Portfolio of work. The online environment helps engage our 21st Century Learners and caters for diverse learning styles. Parents and caregivers can logon at anytime, using their child’s password, to view their child’s work, check the class noticeboard or check the school calendar. We will keep you updated on our online progress.
